The Making of a Scottish Opera Costume

Our film shows the creation of a costume for Scottish Opera’s production of Mozart’s Don Giovanni, from design concept, fabric selection, cutting the cloth and fittings with the performers, up to the finished costume’s first appearance on the Theatre Royal stage in Glasgow.

The film was part of a series that we developed for Scottish Opera, to be used not only to promote the production to audiences, but also as a vehicle to promote careers in ‘backstage’ areas of the organisation.

The creation of this film was tied to the strict schedule of the costume department and ensuring that each of the stages of the development of the costume were captured as they happened.
